Solar Power Making Green Power
One of the most known options to
save pollution and to promote green energy is solar energy. With increasing
population Power requirement of users has led to more power plants. Thermal power
plants have advantage of getting raw material easily available but at a cost of
massive pollution in the environment. Hydel power plants are just a backup to
the large thermal power producers or for a small city. Solar energy has turned
to be a game changer in the power plant sector. Solar power has become more
acquainting to the public .
Government is promoting solar power by making solar
power plants at all the government buildings ,colonies for power consumption.
Street lights are using solar power and the most used form of solar energy is rooftop
solar power plant. Nowadays rooftop solar power generation is trending. Rooftop
solar power plants can be used for office as well as for home. Solar power
plants for home do require user attention for more awareness in this field.
Rooftop Solar power plant can be grid connected or off grid power plants.
Usually
grid connected or on Grid solar power plant are mostly commissioned in
industries or such that it add up to the power capacity of the country . Off
grid solar energy plants are mostly fitted on houses rooftop. This renewable
source of energy is the boon to mother earth as it has low maintenance cost and
90% energy conversion.
The energy conversion from sunlight to electricity through photo voltaic
is called as solar energy. Photo voltaic are silicon cells made of silicon
alloys . There are two types of PV cells a) mono crystalline cells b) thin film solar panel out of which former is
more efficient but more expensive.
There are many types of solar power generation methods:
- · Parabolic trough
- ·
Linear Fresnel reflector systems
- ·
Solar power towers
- ·
Solar pond
These are the effective methods by which solar power can be
generated. Let us know a little briefs about each of them.
Parabolic
Trough:-
Sun lights are too diffused to be concentrated on a single
point so as to use that heat for any application like cooking water heating or here
we can say to produce steam for power
generation. Yes! Power Generation just like in a thermal power plant. Check out
an the giph .
Linear Fresnel
reflector systems
They are thin, flat mirror strips that are used to
concentrate sunlight to tubes through which fluid is pumped.
Solar Power
Towers
It comprises of a setup that has an array of large,
sun-tracking mirrors known as heliostats that focus sunlight on a receiver at the top of a
tower. In this receiver, a fluid is heated and used to generate steam.
Wait! Wait! Wait! don’t run away let me put an image
to make it clear and also a layman definition .
Actually there is a long tower at a height and numerous
mirrors below it that concentrate sunlight on that tower to heat the fluid to
run the turbine and that runs the generator to produce electricity.

ReplyDeleteGood work
ReplyDeleteSolar energy is regarded as green because it uses a natural resource that can’t run out and has almost no negative impact on the environment. The traditional energy sources of fossil fuels like coal, natural gas and crude oil, by comparison, produce massive amounts of carbon emissions and pollutants and contribute hugely to climate change, respiratory problems, and pollution.
